Our Spooky Village 2019

I’m so excited to share our Spooky Village with you again this year (here’s last year’s). We decided to add one house to it this year, which I’ll share below!

First, let me quickly summarize how we made the houses!

Each of our houses are birdhouses which you can find at craft stores as well as dozens of cute options here. First, I sketched out ideas in my notebook—there are SO many cute ideas you can come up with for different types of shops and town “amenities,” haha. I started off with a few designs and then let Nova take the reign on two houses last year—augh! They are SO cute.

Anyway, 99% of these houses are just craft paint. This year we also added a ton of googly eyes.

So basically, you can probably just buy a birdhouse and then use stuff you ALREADY HAVE to start your village! It’s a great activity to do with little kids. Not only are they fun to make, but our kids also play with them (as toys!) almost every day.

Here’s the new house. We had so much fun making this! Since we used regular (Elmer’s) glue, we had to do one side one day and then wait for them to dry. So it took a while and Nova loved doing it!

These are my personal favorites. Which one is your favorite??

If you make a spooky village, please tag us on Instagram so we can see!!!!

I love Halloween SO MUCH and I hope you are having a fun season too. xx- Elsie

25 Racing Car Beds For Children Rooms

Kids love racing cars and it’s not that difficult to understand why. They’re fast, flashy, colorful, noisy and pretty cool plus we now have a bunch of animations that basically revived the trend in a big way. With that in mind, you have to admit that having a racing car bed is pretty awesome, especially as a kid. You don’t have to be a Nascar fan to see it. View in gallery Most racing car beds manage to combine a fun design with a safe structure Racing car beds are usually small and designed just for children. They feature bold and vibrant colors that make them stand out and make the children like them even more. Red and blue are very common colors for such pieces. They also usually have numbers on them and those checkerboard patterns on the sides. Building a racing car bed is actually a very interesting concept. It’s a two-in-one piece.
